Bridesmaid Dresses!

I picked it! YAY! After months of looking and not finding anything, traveling to different stores, and browsing online. I spoke with an associate at www.perfect-bridesmaid-dresses.com and she helped guide me to a couple of different choices.
I picked one I think will be perfectly beautiful on everyone. In the Navy color!

With a muff accented by snowflakes. It will be perfect!

See look how cute that is~!
Don't know about the shoulder muff yet, we will have to wait that one out. It's a possibility.
Anyways that's my idea at the moment.

Oh Travis and i also decided who would walk with who.
Liz and Eric
Jess and Jason
Radonna and Will
Starla and Antonio
Meghan and Jon

YAY! One more bridal decision done. :-) I'm slowly knocking to-dos of my list. :-)

Happy Wedding Moment.. in the midst of the craziness!

Okay - I apologize haven't posted in a while so I felt the need to update some awesome wedding details. First off. I am not as crafty as I thought I could be! I willingly admit it.
I found some awesome websites to help me in my lack of craftiness though.

The wedding theme is winter wonderland. Thinking winter-wonderland, snow, moonlight. Aiming for romantic and whimsical. I included photos for inspiration. The dark navy, the light blue, and silver all part of our wedding colors.

Hopefully it turns out as planned!

Oh - back to the title.

I got my wedding trees! I ordered these branches for my wedding centerpieces from the website
www.save-on-crafts.com. This is a picture of what the website says they look like. Guess what! They actually look like that too! I went to order more and they were sold out, I only hope they will get some back before October. Great wedding investment, they will look spectacular on the wedding tables as centerpieces.

I want to put it in the vase with a blue light and have the light illuminate the beading on the tree. I think it will be beautiful!
I'm so excited!

I also mailed out the "Save the Dates" - Yay! Wedding planning at its best!

So many plans in my head!

Oh I mentioned I found several websites for different wedding stuff, another website I found is
www.smartyhadaparty.com
I plan on purchasing some of their disposable table covers and some of the overlays. 8 dollars per table, I as compared to 17 dollars a table. I am so super excited.

Oh and as of right now - like seriously 10 minutes ago - I have selected the bridesmaid's dresses! YAY! No more headache. This was the worst part so far of the wedding planning.

Venue - Tresca on 8th - Check
Caterer - Friend's Catering - Check - Tried their food and it was delicious! First caterer to offer us to taste the food before purchasing. Extremely important to me and my fiance'.
Brides Dress - Mom got it for me! :-)
Photographer - April Moore - Love her photos and super excited for her to do our engagement and wedding photos!
Centerpieces - Working on it!
Wedding favors - Picked out not yet ordered!
Invitations - Picked out - ordered sample!
Bridesmaid's dresses - Haven't told the girls yet for final approval, but Ill let you know when I do!

All in all - I feel like I am on the right track!

Catering, Flowers, Decor - Oh My!

Catering, Flowers, Decor - These are just a few of the many things I have left to do before our wedding in December. We are meeting tomorrow with "Love Is In the Air" events planner. They do - can you guess- catering, flowers, and decorations! Hence the title Catering, Flowers, and Decor. I'm really excited to speak with someone new and possibly get some good ideas, but I would like to do some - do it yourself- stuff too.

This is what I have decided so far this week.
We ordered our save the dates! I am so excited to get them and send them out!
They are really pretty with four pictures of us and really pretty font. I am going to use the font for a DIY aisle runner I want to create for our wedding.

Other decisions and this one is most important!!
My family and I are die hard Redskin fans! Like love them with a passion - my older sister - who just happens to be a family traitor, is a die hard Cowboys fan. I was sitting with my sister telling her we selected our wedding colors as Navy and Silver - pretty simple Winter Wedding colors - I want to focus on the nighttime, stars, and snow. However, her response was.. OMG! You are totally doing Dallas colors! I immediately made an executive decision to go back to the original color scheme of Navy, Silver, Light blue, and Purple. I WILL NOT have Dallas colors! Especially since we will WIN this year!!!

I know I want to do a bring your favorite recipe dinner for the Rehearsal Luncheon
I also got the great idea, from my "Grannie", to do Soups - different types of soups - for my Bridal Shower. I loved it because in October - Soup definitely hits the spot!

This is all for now! More will follow - Probably after our meeting tomorrow! Wish us luck!

Stressed Out!

Okay so stress is nothing new, but I am just at my max right now. So much to do. We finally booked the venue, we are going to work with Tresca on 8th, which is nice because we will have access to an actual planner to help map out all the details.

I also have plans to meet with Linda from Love is in the Air and Michael from Lynchburg Catering. I spoke with Tessa from Blondie's Catering and I heard they did a really nice job catering, I just don't know how expensive any of them are. I know food is important, but I don't want it to cost an arm and leg.

We also found out some really bad news this week, which I am struggling with, but I keep praying and maybe everything will be okay. So much going on, but at least I still have 6 more months to lose weight and have a fantastic wedding.

Can I just say throughout the whole thing Travis has been amazing and patient and loving. I can't believe how lucky I am to marry the most perfect man for me. I started looking at wedding songs for mine and Travis' first dance, any good suggestions?

Venue - Check!
Photography - Check!
Everything else... not even close! haha. Wish us luck!

On a happy note.. tomorrow is Friday and then I get to spend three days with the love of my life!!!!

Is there really this much to a wedding???

Wow! I think that is about all I can say about wedding planning. I think I would really enjoy this if I did it everyday and it wasn't my own wedding, and my own money. Haha.

So far I have contacted several venues, several caterers, and even a couple of photographers. I am trying to get the budget set before we book everything, so I know how much I have to work this summer. Right now, it seems like a lot!!!

I find myself wanting to do more and more wedding planning than anything else. I really enjoy looking at the different venues and contacting people about the best deals.

But

I am always open to advice! So if you have any let me know. Let me know what you did and why your wedding was so special.

Right now we have selected a preferred date: December 1, 2012. Colors: Navy Blue and Silver. and thats it... haha.
We have also discussed family sizes and how I have tons and tons of family and Travis has seriously like 40 people. Its really lop-sided.

I'm meeting with Travis's mom, Momma Wanda, and Travis's Aunt and Travis on Saturday to discuss sites and numbers and options. So much wedding stuff, I can't believe I am getting married in less than 7 months. A day exactly less than 7 months. Can't believe Travis has been with me the whole time discussing the wedding stuff so far... I am most definitely one of the luckiest ones I know!!!

More wedding stuff to come when I figure more stuff out! Next appointment is Friday to tour a venue at Glencliff Manor! OH - I almost forgot! I booked my first wedding dress consultation!! Yay! So excited! Wish me luck!

Is this really happening?!?

Well, it is April 26th. 2 Days after I have officially become engaged. Here's our proposal story.

We were going hiking for our anniversary on the Peaks of Otter, well before we left the house I told Travis we needed to pack some sandwiches for our trip. See, he had apparently never hiked the Peaks before, and although I had, it had been a while. Hiking the peaks is not something you do if you are overweight and out of shape, it is seriously a climb.
Seriously - 1.5 miles with an elevation of 3,875!

So we packed sandwiches and water for when we got to the top. Started off great, Travis was acting kinda weird about his backpack, but I didn't really notice, I guess I was trying to mentally prepare for this hike. Here we are before we start our journey.

So we are walking up the mountain and I am trying to get to the top. We pass a few gentleman on the way, one who gave me his walking stick to use as I continued to pant slowly up the mountain, asking him as we passed going opposite ways, how much longer.

Seriously, I am so close to the top and I know the views are beautiful, but I am just tired. My asthma and the cold wind are just getting my nerves and if I see one more stepping stone or rocks set up like stairs I think I am going to cry. My motto, "We are almost there baby", saying this to Travis so I seem smart, but really just trying to keep motivated. Eventually he asks me how many times I'm going to tell him we are almost there.... I tell him enough, or at least until we get there. :-)  We get to the top and the view is just absolutely perfect, there is a lake and trees and fields, just every where you turn there is something to see.
The view is beautiful!

We eat our peanut butter sandwiches and a few Doritos ( I love the Cooler Ranch ones) and relax.

Mmmmm Doritos

It is just amazing. I go to pull out the video camera, because we can no longer fit any more pictures on the actual camera (could be because we took pictures of everything), and just record the view. It was breathtaking. As I am recording the view, Travis turns to me and says It is April 24th 2012, it's our three year anniversary and I am here with the most beautiful and intelligent woman I know, and I am the happiest I have ever been.

Insert inside joke here ~ earlier that week when we discussed hiking the mountain I told him I had a dream that the only reason he would want to go to the Peaks was to throw me off ~ Travis then declares that it really does sound like we are getting ready to jump to our doom.

He then proceeds to tell me that he has brought me up to the mountain for a reason, other than to kill me, and gets down on one knee, shows me the most beautiful ring, I have ever seen, and asks me to marry him. I am still in shock, but of course I said yes and here we are two days later ~ I'm getting married. Actually we are getting married and I couldn't be happier!

It's so pretty!
